DESCRIPTION:It's almost Winter Steelhead season on the North Coast! And with the winter run of fish to the Mad River Hatchery\, comes the annual Nor-Cal Guides and Sportsmen Association's Mad River Steelhead Derby. This event is held on the Mad River and is a hatchery fish only derby. The Derby starts on January 15 and runs until February 29. That's almost two months to catch a fish. The three largest Steelhead in the adult and the youth division are eligible to win cash from Derby sponsors. Even if you don't catch a big fish\, you'll be entered to win all kinds of raffle prizes just for signing up. Other prizes include a Winner Take All Raffle dream package\, crazy amounts of fishing tackle\, rod and reel combos\, ocean and river trips with a professional guide or you can win a 2-night Air-B-N-B stay just minutes away from the Mad River.
